Just prior to the current COP24 in Katowice, the IPCC released its special report on limiting global warming to 1.5°C. All scenarios taken into consideration in the report have to rely on Carbon Dioxide Removal to reach the target, but behaviour changes and demand-side management are reported to be able to substantially limit this reliance on CDR. In chapter 4 of this IPCC report, we can now find numerous references to these behavioural strategies, and even an entire section dedicated to behavioural changes, testifying the increasing importance of the topic in recent years.
